Shift with the opposite hand
- Produce capitals without breaking the home position.
To type a capital letter, hold shift with the little finger of the hand that is NOT typing the letter.
Capital A: right little finger holds shift, left little finger presses A. Capital P: left little finger holds shift, right little finger presses P.
Using the same hand for both forces the hand off home position and is the single most common cause of a speed plateau in self-taught typists.
Proper nounsSentences with capitals
Each of these needs a shift pressed by the opposite hand.
