Find what is actually wrong

Most typing sites give you a number. Typing Coach tells you which keys, which letter pairs and which finger are costing you that number - and then trains exactly those.

A real curriculum

13 levels from posture and the home row through to professional text and code - about 4 hours of structured instruction.

The learning system

From never having touch typed to typing for a living.

Each stage assumes only what the one before it taught. You are never asked to type a key you have not been shown, and never pushed for speed before your accuracy can carry it.

  1. 01BeginnerWhere the keys are, and which finger owns each one.
  2. 02Touch typingHands on home row, eyes on the screen, never looking down.
  3. 03AccuracyAbove 97%, because speed built on errors has to be unlearned.
  4. 04SpeedDeliberate bursts above your comfortable pace, then recovery.
  5. 05SymbolsThe pinky column and the shifted row that nothing else trains.
  6. 06Real workEmail, reports, notes and figures at working speed.
  7. 07CodeBrackets, operators and capitalisation in eight languages.
  8. 08MasteryEndurance, consistency, and a speed that holds for an hour.
Adaptive coaching

Your training changes based on your mistakes.

Every session updates a picture of your typing: per key, per letter pair, per finger. When something is measurably weak, the next session is built from it - starting with the isolated key and climbing all the way to real prose.

How the coaching works
Recommendation

Right pinky weakness detected

  • Right pinky accuracy 72% across 1,240 keystrokes.
  • P at 71%, semicolon at 68%.
  • The PO transition is your single worst movement, at 61%.

Weakness analysis

Two typists at 58 WPM have completely different problems.

A single speed number hides everything useful. These are the three views that actually tell you what to practise.

Weak keys

Accuracy per key, weighted by how often the key really appears.

  • P71.0% (184 attempts)
  • O82.0% (402 attempts)
  • ;68.0% (61 attempts)
  • Q88.0% (44 attempts)

Weak transitions

Moving between two keys is its own skill. This is where most plateaus live.

  • PO61.0% (58 attempts)
  • OP67.0% (52 attempts)
  • L;73.0% (31 attempts)

Weak fingers

Your slowest finger sets your ceiling, not your fastest.

  • R572.0% (right pinky)
  • L489.0% (left ring)
  • L298.0% (left index)
  • R297.0% (right index)

Your keyboard, coloured by accuracy

Every key you have ever typed, shaded by how often you get it right.

Developer Academy

Code is not slower prose. It is a different keyboard.

Brackets, operators, camelCase and a symbol density five times that of English. Typing Coach measures code speed, symbol accuracy, bracket accuracy and capitalisation separately, in eight languages.

Daily coach

Fifteen minutes, built the night before from your own data.

The shape stays the same, because a varied session that always covers the same ground is what produces improvement. What changes daily is the content of each block - and that comes from what you got wrong yesterday.

At the end you get a straight answer: did today move the number, or not?
